Visit the Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen Church and discover one of the smallest temples in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. It was built after 1615 and extended in 1729. From the original work, only the apse is preserved.

Its interesting facade has a wonderful sculpture in brick surrounding the main Baroque vestibule, above which a small niche houses a stone statue of the Virgin. In here, they stand out the outer gates from the 18th century, which are unique.

Inside the temple, the simplicity of the church houses a statue of Christ taken in procession during the Holy Week by the parishioners, as well as an anonymous painting representing Jesus of Nazareth. Related to the Spanish tradition, the statue receives the rank of Colonel, as well as have recognized other several military honors.
