Vaccines for the Dominican Republic

When you travel it is very important to be informed about some sanitary measure that should be taken such as the vaccines. In the case of Dominican Republic it is not compulsory any specific vaccine but some of them are recommended.

Among the vaccines which are advisable to be applied, with a minimum of a month beforehand, are the Hepatitis A and B vaccines, just if you are going to practice risky activities or only as a precaution. You should not get these again in case you have been vaccinated or you have been through the illness. It is also recommendable the typhoid fever vaccine, as prevention around the health standards conditions, the water or the food handling; just as the tetanus-diphtheria vaccine.

Other illnesses with a minimum risk of infection are the malaria and the dengue fever. Although the authorities focus it more on rural and little tourist enclosures, the vaccine would be recommendable; since in the case of the dengue fever is transmitted by the bite of some daily mosquitoes which extend through the whole territory.

Although very rare, it is also suggested the schistosomiasis vaccine; produced by the possible existence in the water of larvas which go into our organism, by the food or the waters where you swim.
