If you like big waves, Encuentro Beach is the best place to surf them. This beautiful beach is 4 km far from Cabarete, Puerto Plata, and it is one of the best places in the Dominican Republic to practise aquatic sports.

Its white sand, turquoise blue waters, and sea floors full of coral reefs turn this place into a unique beach. There, you can enjoy an incredible surf atmosphere. Although this is not a surfers’ beach, it is also an ideal place to practise windsurf and kitesurf or other aquatic sports.

There is one inconvenient, the beach has plenty of rocks and there are dangerous tides sometimes.
