Sierra de Bahoruco National Park is located in southwestern Dominican Republic. It is one of the most interesting areas for those who love eco-friendly tourism.

Its vegetation is extremely varied: it goes from dry forests to humid forests. You can find huge areas covered with pines and big broad-leaf trees in addition to the 52% of the country’s orchids and 32 endemic species.

49 different bird species also inhabit the park, among them 19 are endemic. If you finally visit Sierra de Bahoruco National Park, you could watch birds like the common ground-dove, tropical birds, and kestrels.

In addition, lots of reptiles, overall snakes and lizards can be observed there, and also mammals as the solenodon. These animals live inside the vegetation.
