The famous Torre del Reloj Tower, that can be observed from the beautiful Central Park, is part of the Palace City Hall.

Both the tower and the Palace City Hall were built in the first half of the 20th century and the clock has become another touristic attraction of the city.

After the construction of the clock tower, a firefighters’ emergency siren was installed there. It is manually operated and it is rung three times a day: at seven in the morning, at noon and at 6 in the evening.

If the bell rung at any other hour than those, then a fire had been declared somewhere in the city or in its surrounding villages, and this way the firefighters and villagers were notified.

Come and walk by the city’s downtown, hear the siren and feel the effect that it produces when it rings, signaling the day’s time: morning, noon and evening.
