Larimar Museum allows visitors to admire the objects and jewels created by the Dominican artisans that work on larimar stone, also known as stefilia’s stone, which is a rare but beautiful gemstone that is only found in Barahona.

Apart from the museum, this government’s building also has a school for artisans, were they are taught on how to extract, polish and sculpt this very appreciated stone.
