Built in 1948, Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church is considered to be a cathedral since 1976.

It is located in the downtown. It was just a church from 1874 to 1909, the Iglesia de la Santa Cruz Church, since the temple was devoted to the Holy Cross (“la Santísima Cruz”). In the early 20th century, Our Lady of the Rosary (Nuestra Señora del Rosario) became the town’s patron saint, thus the town’s festivities have been celebrated on the 7th of October ever since.

Don’t miss the chance to visit this historic temple on a walk by the downtown of this beautiful city.
