Famous for its coral reefs, diving lovers enjoy quite much observing the incredible underwater fauna and the wreck of the sank boat from Kidd Captain, located only 2 or 3 meters deep in the vicinity of the island. Being part of the Underwater Museums route of La Romana, the Naufragio del Capitán Kidd Shipwreck became famous due to its discovery by a tourist and a later documentary by National Geographic.

Apart from the shipwreck, reefs create an amazing coral wall causing countless wrecks in the area, being nowadays one of the most famous destinations for divers who visit the country.

During your visit to the island, apart from enjoying a beach day in the Caribbean style, it is typical to eat a buffet lunch in the restaurants of Casa de Campo, as well as shopping in some small shops or discovering typical dances sometimes performed.

It is a really nice place for fishing where Guatapaná, Jureles, Scombridaes and other kinds of warm waters fishes have been caught.

There are tours leaving from different places in the area of La Romana, like Casa de Campo, Playa Bayahibe or Playa Dominicus, among others.
