The Bahía de Ocoa Bay is well-known by all the Dominicans for being one of the most wonderful natural treasures in La Española island. This bay is in perfect conditions, most notably its crystal clear waters and water currents that allow people to do any water sport such as deep sea fishing or diving, among others. Its marine ecosystem is, for sure, one of the characteristics that makes Ocoa Bay even more interesting because it has a wide variety of marine and plant species.

Its waters border different beaches that form small paradises worth of being visited. Some of these beaches are: Blanca Beach, Monte Rio Beach and Caracoles Beach. The last one witnessed the beginnings of Francisco Caamaño’s guerrilla warfare, which is one of the most significant events in the national history of the Dominican Republic.

Bahía de Ocoa Bay is a must-go place during your visit to Azua, because it is one of the most beautiful natural monuments of the country.
